MISSION STATEMENT
We develop young people's core values and life skills through dedication and leadership with a commitment to education and community service. Together we build a better community now and for the future.
BRIEF HISTORY
The Way to Win established its non-profit organization on October 29, 1999. Contributions support our leadership program that enables girls to participate in our programs.
PROJECT GOALS
Our goal is to instill and develop core values that develop life skills. We emphasize self-discipline, leadership, teamwork, education and community service.
Since 1999, 7th-12th grade females have participated in monthly developmental training programs. Individuals must maintain a 3.0 GPA to even be considered in our programs and complete weekly commitments: attend two trainings sessions, complete two outside self-motivated trainings and perform community service work.
OBJECTIVES
We build character, develop personal and team skills through our training programs. Leadership and communication tools are instilled. Through our weekly community service projects our participants learn the values of helping others and the rewards of changing people's lives. Unlike other programs, we focus on developing core values and leadership qualities.
"Success" encompasses tangible short-term improvements in: self-confidence, self-discipline, respect of self and others and teamwork. Long-term improvements include: achieving higher education goals and determining and achieving their objective to become successful individuals in our community.
PROJECT FUNDING
No child is turned away. Typically, only those children from the best financial backgrounds are able to seize the opportunity to participate. Through our Foundation's fund raising efforts we are able to help some of the children's families meet these financial needs.
